Safer Consumer Units
Your fuse board is the heart of your home's electrics. Older boards with rewireable fuses or wooden backings often fall short of modern safety standards and offer little protection against shocks, overloads, and electrical fires. Upgrading to a modern consumer unit with RCD and MCB protection is one of the most worthwhile safety improvements you can make.
We start every job with a survey of your existing installation, checking the wiring, circuits, and the condition of the current board. We then isolate the supply, remove the old board, fit the new consumer unit, and make sure every circuit is correctly protected, clearly labelled, and compliant with the current regulations.
Once the board is in, we carry out a full test of every circuit it feeds and issue the relevant certification. A typical upgrade takes between four and eight hours depending on the size and condition of your system, and we will always tell you up front what to expect on the day.
As a NICEIC registered contractor, all of our work meets the latest amendment of BS 7671. We keep the process tidy and straightforward, explain what we are doing in plain terms, and back our workmanship so you can trust the board protecting your home for years to come.
