Electrical Safety Reports
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a thorough assessment of the safety and condition of an electrical installation. A qualified electrician inspects and tests the system to confirm whether it is safe, compliant, and working as it should, and the report flags any defects or hazards along with a clear action code.
We carry out EICRs for homeowners, landlords, and businesses. Landlords in the private rented sector are legally required to have one carried out every five years or on change of tenancy, and an EICR is also worth doing if you are buying a property or noticing problems like frequent tripping or flickering lights.
During the inspection we check the wiring, sockets and switches, earthing and bonding, the consumer unit, and the general installation, then test the circuits for correct operation and protection. A typical domestic report takes two to four hours; larger or commercial properties can take longer.
You receive a full report detailing every finding with its code (C1 immediate danger, C2 potentially dangerous, C3 improvement recommended) and a clear set of recommendations. Where remedial work is needed we will explain it and quote for it honestly, with no pressure. Domestic reports start from £200, commercial from £500.
